STATUSThis position is considered part-time (less than 30 hours/week [Mon/Thur, 8:15am-2:15pm] School year calendar, some summer hours) 

  

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONTo provide a compassionate and encouraging environment to help children enrolled develop mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.  This will be accomplished with age-appropriate experiences consistent with the Christian principles of First Baptist Rogers based on the authority of the Bible. This can be extended to support families by providing care, biblical education, and growth opportunities for both children and their family. 

  

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Confess to be a born-again Christian and to have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. 

  • Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. 

  • Accept the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention without reservation. 

  • Agree to the Code of Conduct of First Baptist Rogers. 

  • Manifest, by daily example, the highest Christian virtue serving as a Christian role model both in and out of church. 

  • Become a member of and faithfully attend and support First Baptist Rogers. 

  • A calling to serve God in a church staff position. 

  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. 

  • Relates well with young children and understands developmentally appropriate expectations. 

  • Dependability 

  • Organizational skills 

 

JOB DUTIESKid’s Day Out (KDO) teacher 

 

  • Physically able to move from floor/chair to standing, lift a minimum of 25 lbs., and be capable of keeping young children safe and cared for according to First Baptist Rogers Preschool Ministry policies and procedures. 

  • Complete Background Check, Awareness Training, and Orientation Training, including Mandatory Reporter and CPR/First Aid training. 

  • Attend scheduled KDO trainings and meetings. 

  • Attend 10 hours of professional training per year. 

  • Pray for the children in your class. 

  • Always know the number of children in your care. 

  • Always remain in the classroom when children are under your supervision and never leave children unattended in the classroom. 

  • Guide learning activities from the provided KDO lesson plans. All activities, crafts and class materials will be prepared in advance by the Curriculum Coordinator in a tub available at the beginning of the week. 

  • Teach the Bible lessons in a creative way so that children will learn and grow in their faith. 

  • Serve the provided snacks, assist with lunches. 

  • Follow the program accepted discipline policy and notify Administrator when problems occur. 

  • Leave your classroom clean, neat, and in good condition after teaching, according to the classroom closing procedures. 

  • Communicate effectively with parents. 

  • Follow the guidelines of the Cell Phone and Social Media Policy. 

  • Notify the Administrator as soon as possible of absence.
