FIRST ACADEMY TEACHERS

First Academy is a growing Christian school in Rogers, Arkansas. Housed within First Baptist Rogers, FA is open to PK3-7th grade students with plans to continue to expand in forthcoming years.

This position is for potential music teachers PK-7th grade.

 Full-time teachers receive paid leave, free tuition, disability, health and life insurance, and retirement. 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher
  • Current teaching certification/license

Experience

  • Two years of teaching experience preferred
  • Christian school experience is a plus

Job Responsibilities

  • Displays to students genuine love for God, Scripture, and learning
  • Prays (privately) for each student in the class

  • Plans fun, age-appropriate weekly music lessons aligned to Arkansas State Music Standards.

  • Creates a welcoming, engaging environment for singing, movement, instruments, and worship.

  • Encourages participation and positive attitudes, using simple observations to monitor engagement.

  • Maintains a positive, Christ-centered environment during classes and rehearsals.

  • Addresses behavior or participation concerns and communicates with parents or the principal when needed

  • Plans and directs all elementary music programs and special events.

  • Coordinates rehearsals, staging, equipment, and student roles

  • Contributes to a cooperative and collegial atmosphere among teachers and staff

  • Avoids gossip by idle conversation about students or others and brings problems up only with the appropriate persons

  • Participates in training and other meetings and initiatives

  • Respects and upholds school policies and standards delineated in faculty policies, student handbooks, and in faculty training

  • Follows Matthew 18:15-17 model for handling conflicts

  • Performs teaching and non-teaching tasks with attention to quality, detail, timeliness, and professionalism

  • Maintains licensure
